After pressing the button, the box will land itself on the Super Button. This achievement works in other chambers, too (e.g. chapter 3 chamber 13).
Overclocker |
Complete Test Chamber 10 in 70 seconds |
Self-explanatory. | ||
Pit Boss |
Show that pit who's boss |
This achievement is unlocked by willingly jumping into the pit where Wheatley attempted to kill Chell and GLaDOS after escaping the initial death trap.
Preservation of Mass |
Break the rules in Test Chamber 07 |
At the end of Test Chamber 07, GLaDOS points out that the Aperture Science Material Emancipation Grill across the exit is non-functional, instructing Chell not to take anything from the test chamber. Removing the Companion Cube from the room by using portals unlocks the achievement. It will be destroyed upon reaching the elevator.
Pturretdactyl |
Use an Aerial Faith Plate to launch a turret |
This achievement is unlocked by placing a Sentry Turret on an Aerial Faith Plate. The turret doesn't need to be active. This can be accomplished in several test chambers, both in the main campaign and the co-op campaign.
Final Transmission |
Find the hidden signal in one of the Rat Man's dens |
In Test Chamber 6, the trash released on the first button press contains a working radio. The same arrangement of portals used to send the box to the button will also save the radio. The Rat Man's hidden den is above the slanted panels, on the side nearest the door. Going inside with the radio will trigger the transmission and unlock the achievement/trophy.
Good Listener |
Take GLaDOS' escape advice |
During the escape sequence with Wheatley, GLaDOS will open a small room, claiming it is the final chamber. Entering it and dying will unlock the achievement.

Stand in a defective turret detector |
After removing the "template" turret from the scanner in Chapter 5, the player must stand in its place to get the achievement.
No Hard Feelings |
Save a turret from redemption |
In order to get this achievement, the player must remove the Oracle Turret from the Turret Redemption Line.
Schrodinger's Catch |
Catch a blue-painted box before it touches the ground |
Self-explanatory. As the box's path is random and can cause a significantly decreased frame rate as it bounces wildly inside its cage, this may take multiple attempts.
Ship Overboard |
Discover the missing experiment |
Near the area where GLaDOS is found, a door hidden behind some objects leads to the docking area of the Borealis. The achievement triggers automatically by walking up to the life preserver near the gate.
Door Prize |
Examine all the vitrified test chamber doors |
There are several steel doors with "Vitrified" painted on them. Examining the intercoms next to them counts toward the achievement. Most are along the primary path to complete the chapter. The final three are in the same area as the Borealis dock mentioned above.
Portrait of a Lady |
Find a hidden portrait |
After the first Propulsion Gel test, there is a room blocked by a locked gate in the small area between the last chamber and the next. Portals can be used to access it. Examining the portrait of Cave Johnson and Caroline within causes GLaDOS to comment on her familiarity with them, unlocking the achievement.
You Made Your Point |
Refuse to solve the first test in Chapter 8 |
The player simply needs to stand around instead of solving Wheatley's first test. After a set amount of time (around 30 seconds), the achievement will unlock.
Smash TV |

To gain this achievement, the player must break eleven monitors used by Wheatley using momentum, turrets, or Thermal Discouragement Beams. There are twelve breakable monitors in total, but only 11 are in the test chambers.

The achievement counts for both players, regardless of who catches the cube.
Gesticul-8 |
Perform all 8 Gestures of your own volition in co-op |
Gestures performed automatically at the end of certain test chambers do not count. Likewise, gestures triggered by one player but involving actions from both only count for the player who initiated it.
Can't Touch This |
Dance in front of a turret blocked by a hard light bridge in co-op |
Self-explanatory. | ||
Empty Gesture |
Drop your co-op partner in goo while they are gesturing by removing the bridge under them |
This achievement will only work if the gesturing player falls in toxic water after being dropped.
Party of Three |
Find the hidden companion cube in co-op test chamber |
The Companion Cube is in the final chamber of the course, to the left of the building containing the security disk. To reach it, the player must use the Excursion Funnel to send themselves past the building. A wall will open, showing the cube, before pushing the players into a spike wall. This achievement and "Still Alive" are mutually exclusive.
Narbacular Drop |
Place a portal under your co-op partner while they are gesturing |
This can be performed in most chambers, but the Hub or the first chamber of Team Building present the most convenient locations. The gesturing player has to fall through the portal to activate the achievement, but unlike Empty Gesture does not have to be killed afterward.
Air Show |
Perform 2 aerial gestures before touching the ground in co-op |
This is easiest to perform within an Excursion Funnel or infinite loop.
Portal Conservation Society |
Complete Chamber 3 in the Hard-Light Surfaces co-op course using only 5 total portal placements |
Self-explanatory. The total includes portals placed by a partner. The achievement will unlock for both players regardless of who places the portals.
Four Ring Circus |
Enter 4 different portals without touching the ground in co-op |
To unlock this achievement, the player must physically enter each colored portal without touching the ground. Entering one portal in a pair only counts as one portal. All four need to be entered without passing through the same one twice. This can be accomplished in Chamber 1 of Team Building. Place the yellow and red portals on the floor next to each other. Then place the blue and purple portals above and to the right of the floor portal on the right. By entering the purple portal on the floor, the player will pass through the purple and red portals, hitting the ceiling. Upon falling back through the yellow portal, the blue portal can be switched for the red one, allowing the player to fall through and earn the achievement.
Triple Crown |
Solve 3 co-op chambers in the Mass and Velocity course in under 60 seconds each |
Self-explanatory. | ||
Rock Portal Scissors |
Win 3 co-op games of rock-paper-scissors in a row |

Professor Portal |

Still Alive |
Complete Course 4 with neither you nor your co-op partner dying |
Self-explanatory. | ||

Friends List With Benefits |
While playing co-op, hug 3 different people on your friends list |
Self-explanatory. | ||
Talent Show |
Never lose a cube in Chamber 6 of the Mobility Gels co-op course |
Self-explanatory. To catch the cube, place one portal under the Vital Apparatus Vent and the other on the slanted portal surface opposite the ramp. Trigger the cube and have the other player run up the ramp at the same moment to catch it in flight. Once the cube has passed through the portals, move the portal from the vent to one of the two platforms at water level, sending the cube-holder into the air. Then move the portal from the slanted surface to the remaining platform. This will put the cube-holder into a loop so they can destroy the turrets guarding the exit. Once the cube-holder has destroyed the turrets, place a portal on the slanted surface opposite the exit to launch them to the door. Once both players have reached the door, the achievement will activate. The achievement counts for both players.
